Although Tain Rifle & Pistol Club is one of the oldest shooting clubs in the Highlands, with a history stretching back to 1892, we are now in a period of exciting renewal.
Just a few years ago, the club nearly closed its doors. Covid, alongside the uncertainty of our land lease, put the club at risk. Instead of giving up, our members came together to purchase the 15 hectares of ground at Tain Hill. This location combines spectacular Highland scenery with purpose-built ranges, giving the club a truly unique atmosphere.
Since then, new members have joined with fresh energy, supporting our goal of building a welcoming, modern shooting club. Today the club combines long-standing tradition with forward-looking improvements, making it a vibrant and inclusive place to shoot.
